Fighter pilot goggles

By Martin Olson

Recon Instruments of Vancouver BC has developed a goggle that promises a unique riding experience.

A tiny processor embedded in the goggle gathers real time information such as speed, time, temperature and altitude. It then projects the information in such a way that the goggle-wearer sees the info suspended about arm’s length away in much the same way that fighter pilots see information on their heads up display.

The rider can read the information on the fly. A long list of parameters are measured and recorded such as airtime and vertical that can be downloaded and viewed later or even reviewed on the chairlift via the built-in display.

Recon Instruments calls it the most advanced snow goggle in the world. The judges at ISPO 2010 agreed, they awarded it Best New Product.
