| All the skis in the Progressor lineup are new this year, including this one. Besides a dual radius design, a newly developed metal reinforcement is attached in front and back of the binding. This new feature strengthens and enhances edge grip which Fischer says makes the dual radius sidecut even more effective. In this case the dual radius as shown on the diagram means the tip of the ski has more shape than the tail.
The test pair at 170cm felt a bit short for how fast it wanted to go, we really needed a 180 to push the limits of this ski. Despite the longish sidecut, the Progressor 1000 was a blast doing short turns on the steeps. Maybe it’s the dual radius sidecut or wood core with Titanal or new DRA element but this is one sweet ride.
The Bottom Line: A great multi-task ski that is stable and predictable and loves to be up on edge. |
