The Austrian ski company Kästle is an old established name in the ski world that dropped out of sight for a while but is now undergoing resurgence with a complete line of high quality wood-core and Titanal skis.

The philosophy of the company is to build simple, quality skis with the best materials, but without what they call the “gimmicks and gizmos” that plague many other brands. An interesting technology they use is called Hollowtech, a Kästle innovation that first appeared at the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Hollowteck is an oval milled out of the ski leaving only a thin layer of fiberglass. The removal of material reduces vibration and weight near the tips.
