NORDICA Bindings

Nordica lists more than a dozen bindings, but for consumers it’s worth knowing that:

  1. Toepieces feature two springs, one for lateral release and one for upward release. That is a good concept because much finer tuning can be done when one spring doesn’t have to be calibrated to do two jobs.
  2. Many of the bindings are integrated with the ski design to optimize performance without impairing smooth ski flex. X-Balance is Nordica’s technology that incorporates the binding in such a way that fore-aft balance errors are automatically corrected. XBI stands for X Balance Integrated.
  3. A slick adjustment system called Central Turntable allows quick, one-handed adjustment for different sole lengths. Those binding setups have “CT” in their name.
