NORDICA Boots

The Nordica boot lineup is daunting, but there has been careful segmentation of market needs to be sure there is a perfect boot for every kind of skier.

The biggest news in Nordica boots is EDT, Efficient Dynamic Technology. Following two years of research and consultation with the University of Padova, a new lower boot was designed. The goal of EDT is to reduce energy loss resulting from distortion of the lower shell in advanced skiing. Nordica’s solution is a bootboard made of extruded aluminum that is bolted through the shell with four threaded studs. According to Nordica the EDT bootboard delivers an increase of 40% in boot torsional stiffness, 6% more lateral stiffness and a whopping 15% increase in biomechanical efficiency. EDT is found on select Doberman models only.

Some boots are listed in UK shoe sizes instead of Mondopoint. Use the handy size converter chart below. Incidently, Mondopoint is foot length in centimenters.

Note: Last size is given in mm. It means the inside width of the boot at the forefoot, about where the metatarsals are. Performance boots tend to be narrow (eg. 95mm) and less precise recreational boots are usually wider (over 100mm).

Hot Rod is designed to provide the performance of frontside boots with comfort and shock absorption features that will allow them to keep going all day. To meet those goals Full Shock Eraser technology is applied which puts special padding or room in key areas, rear spoiler, tongue, toe-box and underfoot. All boots in this collection, men and women, have fur in the lining.

Jah Love is a completely new boot with Shock Eraser on steroids to take the punishment out of charging the big lines. It’s based on the Dobermann chassis for maximum precision and performance with lots of strategically placed padding for shock absorption.

SPORTMACHINE ... Easy skiing/forgiving design

This category is dedicated to advanced frontside skiers that want easy skiing in a forgiving design. They are designed to make skiing easier and one of the key technologies to achieve that is called Natural Foot Stance. NFS allows the feet to turn out slightly for a more natural stance.

To make the friendliest boots on the market Nordica combined the comfort and convenience of a rear-entry design with the precision of a 4-buckle overlap. The rear cuff opens wide for easy entry and also doubles as an easy-walk feature in the lodge. The ski/walk device is automatic and it is found on all Gransport models. All liners are ready for optional heating system too.
