| Steadfast is in a new category for Nordica called Side Country catering to “aspirational” skiers that dream of skiing outside the ropes. It is designed to perform in conventional all mountain conditions but be light enough for easy hiking.
New construction to make the ski light is working, the ski felt light. Despite the early rise tip and short length, Steadfast didn’t feel that nimble because of the width. That might be a personal preference or binding setup but it was a noticeable sensation during the test. In the trees or in a rare untracked stash Steadfast was a fun, easy ride but near the end of the day as the slope was getting compacted this light, stable ski was too much work because 90mm just felt too wide for those conditions. A good ski for Whistler.
The Bottom Line: Light and stable but best in soft snow. |
