99% of Rossignol Athletes Stay Loyal
A STRONG TEAM FOR AN EXCITING OLYMPIC WINTER!
Granby, September 23, 2009- After a period of information and discussion
between Rossignol Group and all the athletes under contract with Rossignol,
Dynastar, Lange and Look, Rossignol Group is delighted to be able to announce
that 99% of racers have decided to stay loyal.
The Group’s high performing products and the service provided by the racing
team played a determining role in the discussions and this outcome. Rossignol
Group counts itself fortunate to be continuing their partnership with the biggest
names in the great “White Circus”: Jean-Baptiste Grange, Didier Defago, Ted
Ligety, Christof Innerhofer, Julien Lizeroux, Werner Heel, Nadia Fanchini, Maria
Pietilae-Holmner, Manuela Moelgg, Marie Marchand-Arvier... without forgetting
Maria Riesch, Tina Maze, Silvan Zurbriggen, Fabienne Suter with Lange. In
Canada, all Rossignol athletes decided to stay loyal to the brand: Michael Janyk,
Manuel Osborne-Paradis, Jan Hudec, Jean-Philippe Roy, Brigitte Acton, Shona
Rubens, Marie-Michèle Gagnon. Britt Janyk and Kelly Vanderbeek stayed with Lange.
In Alpine skiing, only three racers chose to leave us following the adjustment we wished to make to the fixed
part of the contracts: the American Lindsey Vonn and Italian Manfred Moelgg for Rossignol, and
Massimilano Blardone (Italy) for Dynastar.
Of the cross-country skiers, only Norwegian Odd-Bjoern Hjelmeset chose to end his contract.
Finnish skiers Virpi Kuitunen and Aino Kaisa Saarinen, the Italian Pietro Piller Cottrer, the Norwegian team
with Eldar Roenning and Johan Kjoelstad, plus French athletes Vincent Vittoz and Roddy Darragon will stay
with us to compete for those top podium positions. The Canadian biathletes Jean-Philippe Leguellec, Robin
Clegg, Jaime Robb and Daïra Gaïazova in cross-country skiing will still proudly represent Rossignol on the
international level.
Rossignol Group chalked up the greatest number of victories last season and is more ambitious than ever in
terms of staying at this very highest level of competition and turning out outstanding champions again next
season, our sights firmly set on the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Rossignol Group sporting commitment is as resolute as ever and the technological resources that go
alongside it still constitute one of the major development and growth axes for the Rossignol, Dynastar,
Lange and Look brands.
We wish you all an excellent season...
See you at Sölden at the end of October for the launch of the 09/10 World Cup!
