This sequence captures the instant as the skis go from one set of edges to the other.
The body is compact and as athletically balanced as a tight rope-walker, but the real action is happening close to the snow.
Notice that the position of the upper body is almost unchanged in all three images, but the skis are tipped from one edge to the other in a quick movement that begins at the feet.
This skill can be practiced in small bumps and rolls that facilitate turning. Then jack up the speed and feel the skis go from arc to arc.
